DJ Howie

DJ Howie was the music coordinator behind the hugely successful dance music programming on Wear Fm. Boogie Bass and Soul Fish was an umbrella for specialist dance shows playing Hip Hop, Ragga, House, Techno, Hardcore and Hi-Energy (Urban Dance Music). At the beginning of the nineties Rave culture had gripped the UK and by 1991 everybody wanted to be a DJ. During this time the Boogie Bass and Soul Fish shows were gaining popularity and The Blackout on Monday night with DJ Howie was averaging in excess of 175,000 listeners. In 1991 the north east of England also had a popular sold out monthly dance event called Rezurection.
