Axis Trax celebrate their 50th release in style with this big tune from Rachel & Ronnie... Rachel Ellektra releases her second record of the summer which is a collaboration with amazing talent of Ronnie Canada which fuses Rachel's progressive and house sounds with Ronnie's distinctive soulful-bluesy vocals. 'Stand Tall' started life in the 80's as a 93bpm soul-funk demo of which only the acapella had survived. When it surfaced in 2009, Rachel jumped on the chance to write a new backing track for it and that lead to the promo you have in front of you right now! The original track has already had support from Judge Jules on his Radio 1 show over 2 consecutive weeks! Remixes come from a high quality line-up... Spekrfreks are currently rocking the USA with their electro-twisted house sounds. They have remixed previously for Mellefresh (best know for her work with Deadmau5) and now they give an amazing twist on Ronnie's vocals for 'Stand Tall'. Placidic Dream is riding high on the huge recent success of his 'Sunshine EP' on Axis Trax which gained the attention and praise of a string of top DJ's and producers. Here he doesn't dissapoint, giving a wonderfully summery funky house take on the track. Don't forget the dub too which take a more jazzy, trumpet-driven direction. LeisureGroove is another producer who is getting lots of A-List support at the moment, his talent for making amazing house music knows no bounds and on this one de delivers a deep, cool, tribal dub that would sound at home among the likes of Nervous and Defected. Rachel has been in dance music for almost 20 years and is often described as the 'hardest working person in dance music', usually putting in 100-120 hours a week remixing and producing with some networking, PR and DJ'ing thrown in for good measure. In 2009 she racked-up an impressive 150 remixes and productions and she is on track to top that this year! This summer she has been remixing for Serious, Nervous, Jeepers, Champion Records, Tendenzia, Cubit and many more! She's also been writing new collabs with the likes of Angie Brown, Joy Malcolm (Incognito/Moby/Basement Jaxx), Jason Gardiner and Michelle Ericsson. RONNIE CANADA - A BRIEF BIOG. Ronnie Canada is a legend in his own lifetime! As well as being a fantastic solo artist he has also performed and recorded with some of the World's best musicians. From classic artists such as The Drifters and Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes to modern producers like Judge Jules and Pete Doyle, they have all had releases graced by Ronnie's amazing vocals.
