Tom Middleton Lifetracks

The NME described Lifetracks as 'Mesmeric, haunting & beautiful" on it's release in 1997. The album traces the earliest strands of an approach to music that is all consuming and heart felt. This album is a deeply personal exploration of soundscapes, orchestration and sequencing constructed and composed by one of the UK's best DJ's and musical thinkers Tom Middleton. Lifetracks was launched at the BFI with a spectacular set of visual films that were triggered by the live performers to celebrate the BFI's centenary. The album traces the roots of the Big Chill with many of the tracks having made their public debut in a field, tent or at one of the early and legendary Big Chill Union Chapel gatherings. Pete Lawrence who co-founded the Big Chill said that Lifetracks is "a soundtrack for real and imagined personal movies…timeless".
